Investigation of Tissular Extracellular Matrix by Automatised 3D Tissue Reconstruction

Within this project, the development of asoftware is planned to be applied to 3D Reconstruction specially but not restricted to cardiovascular organs (heart and vessels). Varity of staining will be performed to stain the inflammatory cells, new formed blood vessels, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, etc. All these staining should be performed in serial sections, so the software will integrate and overlay all the images, allowing a complex 3D view of the pathological conditions: inflammation, fibrosis and angiogenesis. Thus, a complex automatic analysis of the pathological features in disease organs will be analyzed for the concomitant quantitative investigation of morphologic and molecular information.
